This reproduction of an extraordinary 1870s colour woodcut by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi transforms that real-world tradition into something altogether more fantastical. A lone diver, knife raised, is caught in a violent struggle with a giant octopus, its twisting tentacles wrapping around her body as she fights to escape.

Against the beautifully restrained blue of the water, Yoshitoshi creates an extraordinary sense of movement and tension. Vermilion cloth, black hair and the warm, earthy tones of the octopus collide against an almost dreamlike underwater field.

We ship worldwide. Delivery times vary depending on destination and will be shown at checkout.

Each print is carefully packaged to protect it in transit. We want you to be completely happy with your print. If your order arrives damaged or there is a problem with your purchase, please contact us and we will put it right. If you change your mind, prints may be returned in their original condition within 14 days of receipt. Please contact us before returning an item. Custom-sized prints are produced to order and cannot be returned unless damaged or faulty.
