Dating approximately to the 19th century, The Red Vajra is one of twelve surviving Tibetan divination cards.

At its centre is the vajra, one of the most important ritual objects and symbols in Tibetan Buddhism, depicted here in vivid red against a field of strong geometric colour.

The Sanskrit word vajra can mean both thunderbolt and diamond, combining two powerful ideas: the irresistible force of the thunderbolt and the indestructible nature of the diamond. In Buddhist symbolism it came to represent qualities including spiritual power and the indestructible nature of enlightened awareness.

The Red Vajra is often paired with the Sacred Bell ritual bell, or ghanta. The vajra represents method or compassionate action, while the bell represents wisdom. Together they symbolise two complementary qualities on the path towards enlightenment, and can be hung together.

Acid- and lignin-free and compliant with the ISO 9706 standard for age resistance, it is specifically designed for museum-quality fine-art reproduction.

We print using archival pigment inks for exceptional colour, tonal depth and detail. Together, the paper and pigment inks create a print designed to resist fading and retain its character for generations when properly cared for.

International delivery
We ship worldwide. Delivery times vary depending on destination and will be shown at checkout.

Each print is carefully packaged to protect it in transit. We want you to be completely happy with your print. If your order arrives damaged or there is a problem with your purchase, please contact us and we will put it right. If you change your mind, prints may be returned in their original condition within 14 days of receipt. Please contact us before returning an item. Custom-sized prints are produced to order and cannot be returned unless damaged or faulty.
